The Valley of Serre-Chevalier is a 13-kilometre, south-facing area made up of a vast larch forest, mountain villages and hamlets, all combining to create a very varied landscape and different atmospheres:
-Saint-Chaffrey-Chantemerle: at the foot of the wooded slopes of the Col du Granon, perfect examples of traditional mountain villages and their typical habitat.
-Villeneuve-La Salle-les-Alpes: a harmonious blend of modern and traditional, this is the heart of the valley.
-Monêtier-les-Bains: with its narrow lanes, chapels and churches, the old village of Monêtier has maintained its mountain character. Its hot water springs have allowed it to open a 4,500m2 spa centre.
On the banks of the river Guisane, the traditional hamlets of Casset, Lauzet and Guibertes transport you to the heart of nature in this mountain setting.
