The 2009 Tour de France will include a total of 20 mountain passes or summit finishes classified level 1, level 2 and highest level.
They are divided up as follows:
In the five previous editions of the race, the total was as follows: 22 in 2004, 23 in 2005, 22 in 2006 and 2007, 17 in 2008.
