Liège

For now three decades, the Province of Liège has conducted a dynamic sports policy, insuring a fair balance between professional and amateur sports.
Organizing numerous sporting events boosts its image as “The most sporty Province of Belgium”, and also entails significant economic spin-off.
Among these events, the Province of Liège is fortunate to host the international cycling pack during the yearly Ardennes classics. Several Tour de France stages have taken place in Liège, where the 2006 Giro d’Italia also set off. On September 1st 2009, a Spanish Vuelta stage finish will take place in Liège. We’ve come full circle!

Ans is a charming and attractive borough located on Liège’s heights. Its 5,600 acres include a variety of urban areas, with a southern boundary to Liège, rural settings with Xhendremael bucolic landscapes in the north, and an industrial sector in the centre.
Situated at the crossroads of a dense motorway network, Ans enjoys a privileged location between the Netherlands, Germany and Luxemburg, explaining in part its economic expansion and the presence of many leading-edge technology companies.
Comprising the old boroughs of Ans, Alleur, Loncin and Xhendremael, the present-day Ans is a middle-sized district where live close to 28,000 inhabitants.
