Special rules

ARTICLE 1. Organisation
Amaury Sport Organisation is organising the 70th FLÈCHE WALLONNE on Wednesday 19th April 2006 with the Royal Cyclist's Pesant Club Liégeois, according to the rules of the International Cycling Union (UIC) and those of the Royal Ligue Vélocipédique Belge. It will be raced on Wednesday 19th April 2006.

ARTICLE 2. Event type
The event is restricted to athletes from the Men's Elite category.

ARTICLE 3. Participation
In compliance with article 2.1.005 of the UIC regulations, the race is open to UCI ProTeams and to Professional Continental Teams.
In compliance with article 2.2.003 of the UIC rules, the number of contestants per team is a minimum of 5 and a maximum of 8.

ARTICLE 4. Office hours
Office staff at the start will be on site on Tuesday 18th April from 1430 to 1800 hours at:

Numbers will be distributed by the managers of licensed teams from 1430 to 1645 hours.
The Sports Directors' Meeting, organised according to article 1.2.087 of the U.C.I. regulations, in the presence of the Members of the College of Commissioners, is scheduled for 1700 hours at the organisation's office site.

ARTICLE 5. Radio-Tour
Race information will be broadcast on the “Radio-Course” channel 162.425 MHZ.

ARTICLE 6. Neutral Technical Assistance
The Neutral technical assistance is ensured by MAVIC.
This service is delivered by means of an average of 3 technical cars.

ARTICLE 7. Time to finish
Any contestant arriving at the finish with a time exceeding 5% of the winner's time is dropped from the classification. This time frame can be increased in exceptional circumstances by the College of Commissioners, in consultation with the organiser.

ARTICLE 8. Classifications
The following classifications have been established:
- Individual classification by time,
- Classification for the slopes.

ARTICLE 8B. Classification of slopes
A general classification is established by adding the points awarded over the full 8 slopes.
These slopes award respectively: 4, 2 and 1 point to the first 3 contestants making classification.
To be entitled to the general final classification, contestants are obliged to finish the race. In case of a draw, the classification at the finish line settles the issue.
The prizes awards for the classification of the slopes is spread over the classifications at the summits of the slopes in the general final classification.

ARTICLE 10. Anti-doping
The anti-doping testing is performed under the authority of the International Cycling Union (UIC) and by the designated Officials, at HUY near the dressing rooms/showers.

ARTICLE 11. Protocol
In compliance with 1.12.112 of UCI rules, the following riders must follow the protocol:
- the first 3 contestants in the race,
- the winner of the classification of the slopes.

ARTICLE 12. Penalties
The UCI scale of penalties is the sole applicable.
