A WEDNESDAY UNLIKE THE OTHERS

Several days before Liège-Bastogne-Liège, an unusual population will take over the Chemin des Chapelles in Huy. They come on the third Wednesday of April to encourage the cyclists, but above all to admire their efforts or to discover their weaknesses on one of the hardest final slopes of the cycling season.

Although the Mur du Huy is the final difficulty before the victory, it will attempt to upset the most experienced ambitions and the most skilful tactics twice during the day: the first time will be 65 km after the start of the race which will set off from Charleroi in the morning covering 200 km in total, and then 30 km before the final finish, just before the Côte d’Ereffe, situated 20 km further on.

Last year it took a world champion to overcome the race’s new route and win the event.
