Saint-Juéry is located at the gateway to the Tarn valley.
An old city of ironmongers, a tool manufacturing centre, Saint-Juéry developed around the natural site of Saut de Sabo where, from the 15th century, mills exploited the site’s water power. The chaotic spectacle of this rocky defile on the Tarn has no equal in the South West.
Gradually, the factories closed down and the old hydroelectric plants, today listed monuments, house a museum that traces the area’s 200 years of industrial enterprise in the domain of metallurgy, perpetuating the collective memory of the municipality for its industrial heritage.
Saint-Juéry has also developed an active and dynamic associative and sporting life. With a population of close to 7,000 inhabitants, its sports clubs have over 2,000 members spread across a variety of different disciplines.

Within the Toulouse-Albi-Carcassonne triangle, Revel, a fortified royal mansion with surrounding village, welcomes visitors with its 14th century hall and medieval houses.
Thanks to the genius of Pierre Paul Riquet, the waters of the Black Mountain collect in the Saint-Ferréol lake from where they feed into the Canal du Midi, a UNESCO world heritage site. The ancient craft of furniture making has continued uninterrupted since the 19th century.
Known as the "Pays de Cocagne", the region owes its name to the pastel that made its fortune in the 15th century. Strollers can wander through the market and taste the local products or walk along the pilgrims’ path of Saint-Jacques de Compostelle, another UNESCO world heritage site, or along the many hiking paths. A large variety of leisure pursuits are also available in the area: fishing, swimming, horse riding, soaring, cross-country or mountain biking to name but a few.
