ŠkodaOFFICIAL CAR

There is nothing more legitimate than 100 years of automotive history to get involved in a significant event like the Tour de France and the other ASO competitions:

- 1895: Company founded by Laurin and Klement, specializes in manufacturing bicycles, motorcycles and, later, automobiles.
- 1905: Creation of the L&K, A-type compact car.
- 1925: Acquisition of the firm by the Škoda group. Production of Hispano Suiza (high-end car) under licensing.
- 1991: Acquisition of Škoda by Volkswagen Group A.G.
- 2004: Launch of the new ŠkodaOctavia sedan.
- 2005: Launch of the new ŠkodaOctavia combo.
- September 2006: Launch of the ŠkodaRoomster.

Since 2004, Škoda has been an Official Sponsor of the Tour de France and eight other cycling competitions. This partnership enables the brand to put more than 300 Škoda cars on the road in the cyclists' colors and to involve all of its local retailer and mechanic partners.

Škoda's commitment to the Tour de France and other ASO events continues to deepen. Moreover, ŠkodaFabia, ŠkodaOctavia and ŠkodaSuperb have distinguished themselves in the last two years during these major cycling competitions with their reliability and quality under the races' difficult conditions. Ensuring perfect monitoring of the race for the organizers, competing teams and spectators along the road, means counting on Škoda vehicles.
