Among
all spring classics, Liège-Bastogne-Liège, as
well as Paris-Roubaix, is beyond all doubt the most coveted.
Fourth of the ten UCI World Cup races, the GranMa of cycling
classics has become a modern event which gathers the best teams
of the professionnal peloton. This year, on a demanding 258
km-course, the riders will have to climb ten hills (representing
25 kilometers) : thats why only a great champion, such
as Bartoli (1998 winner), will in 2002 be able to add his name
on the winnerslist.
Last year, former World Champion Oscar Camenzind captured an
unexpected success at the summit of the Ans climb.
Once again, a brilliant winner
