Another one for Bouhanni?

French riders have outshone the rest of the bunch so far in the Race to the Sun and Yellow Jersey holder Nacer Bouhanni made it clear he had also set his goals on stages 2 and 3.

Given his show of strength in Nemours, the French champion will again be the man to beat on the 200.5 kilometers between Vimory and Cerilly. The first stage was a good indication on the form of the fastest finishers in the bunch and Italians seemed to pose the most serious challenge to the home rule with Alessandro Petacchi and Elia Viviani earning the podium honors. But an echelon like the one in which Tom Boonen found himself trapped on Monday will not take place every day, while Marcel Kittel is unlikely to puncture in every flat stage in this edition. Similarly, Mark Renshaw might not found himself as isolated as he was in the last stretch in Nemours, when he finished 6th without anyone to lead him out. In a sense, Bouhanni will be facing a tougher challenge every day from now on.
