Blel Kadri: Above all... help Jean-Christophe Péraud

interview05.07.2013Stage 7- Montpellier / Albi

On the roads leading to the region where he's from Blel Kadri felt in control. He was first over the first two climbs and thus overtook Pierre Rolland in the climbing classification. It's a nice reward but it's not his main motivation...

"Now I appreciate the time that I spent at the front of this race. It's nice to have some recognition after an attack but it's even better for me because we are now in Albi, and people here know me. It's my hometown. I've taken the polka-dot jersey just before entering the Pyrenees, and that's a great thing to savour. But that's not the main goal for me or my team. Above all, I am here to help Jean-Christophe Péraud, who is in very good shape so far. We are so excited to be in the mountains, but to defend the jersey – well, that's another matter. To score points tomorrow, it means it will be in the top 10 in Ax-3-Domaines, which is not likely.”
