An ARN stage on the island of Svalbard may well happen in the near future

Politicians, local businesses and the local community express their willingness to facilitate a stage of the Arctic Race of Norway on the island of Svalbard, almost a 1000 km out in the Norwegian Sea. This desire is affirmed by vice chair of the local government on Svalbard, Eirik Berger and the chair of Svalbard Business Association, Terje Aunevik. Efforts are now made to get the world's northernmost professional cycling race even closer to the North Pole.

Running from Thursday August 11th to 14th 2016, the 4th edition of the Arctic race of Norway will be made up of 4 stages and will cover a total distance of 727.5 kilometres.
