SAINT-VULBAS PLAINE DE L'AIN

Saint-Vulbas has a surprising place on the global sporting scene as it’s home to the headquarters of the International Boules Federation. When it comes to cycling, the town regularly hosts stages of the Tour de l’Ain, usually early in the event with finishes that suit the sprinters, including Jimmy Casper (2011), Gianni Meersman (2014), Nacer Bouhanni (2015, 2017) and Hugo Hofstetter (2018). The Frenchman, who retired at the end of last season, could even claim honorary citizenship of Saint-Vulbas as he also won the only Critérium du Dauphiné finish here in 2016.
