    On July 4, 1994, Danny van Poppel was eleven months old when his father Jean-Paul threw his bike on the finishing line of stage 2 at the Tour de France in Boulogne-sur-Mer to outsprint a German superstar from Gera who was on his right hand side: Olaf Ludwig.
