“I’m very proud to have managed to retain the polka dot jersey at the end of such a stage. It was firstly a big fight for the breakaway. It has taken some time to make it. Then I’ve had to go and collect points at the Galibier and I’ve succeeded. I’ve had to drop Latour, it’s a friendly guy, he would also have deserved to take the polka dot jersey but I went for it because that’s the game.
