More fireworks expected in last Pyrenean stage

The last stage of the Pyrenees is an interesting one. Three first category climbs, the Port de Lers, the very steep Mur de Péguère and the unprecedented uphill finale at Prat d’Albis above Foix are concentrated in the last 65km of stage 15. They can make as much damage as the Tourmalet, so another fireworks can be expected before the second rest day and the Alps that feature another very promising course. Thibaut Pinot said he usually doesn’t feel good the day after a big win but this time around, he’s got a chance to definitely cancel the time lost in the crosswinds en route to Albi in stage 10. French cycling enthusiasts are on fire because of Julian Alaphilippe’s lead in the overall ranking. For two days in a row, he extended his advantage over defending champion to over two minutes and nobody can tell until when the party will be on.
