I’m glad I was able to put in a good acceleration on the uphill finish in order to keep this white jersey. Michael Matthews’ situation was a shitty one. We were looking forward to fight for victory with him today and tomorrow, but he had to pull out of the race with severe sickness. That’s why I was able to ride my own chances at the end. I made one mistake today, as I began the last climb too far back on the peloton. But I am happy with the legs I had today, and I hope to put them for a good use tomorrow.
