Fernando Gaviria: "I like the greatness of the Tour de France"

It’s been a very difficult victory to get but not the tightest ever for me because at the Tour of California, Caleb Ewan also forced me to the maximum for winning a stage. We haven’t received any help from the other teams to bring the breakaway back but at the end, my team deserves this victory and we can go to the hotel very happy with what we achieved. It’s a new experience for me to ride the Tour de France. As a race, it’s not that different from the others but the greatness of the event and its excellence make it very demanding. The main difference comes from the teams of the GC contenders who ride at the front together with the sprinters’ teams. I’m delighted with two wins out of four stages and we’ll evaluate day by day the other possibilities of having bunch sprint finishes. It’s hard to beat Peter Sagan for the green jersey but I’ll try and score as many points as possible and if it works out, I’d be happy to win the points classification in Paris.
