A big group went away in la Madeleine. I managed to be part of it. At the beginning of la Croix-de-Fer, I realized my legs weren’t great. I still manage to crest with the favourites, so I could help Romain Bardet in the valley before Alpe d’Huez, get him bidons and all that sort of things. His result today is encouraging for what’s coming next. We’ve lost Tony [Gallopin], it’s another blow but that’s how it is. [Geraint] Thomas has some bad days sometimes and [Chris] Froome comes out of the Giro, so we’ll have to try [in the Pyrenees].
