Article 1.Organisation

The 69th FLECHE WALLONNE is organised by the Amaury Sport Organisation and the Royal Cyclist’s Pesant Club Liégeois in compliance with International Cycling Union (UIC) rules and those of the Royale Ligue Vélocipédique Belge. It will be contested Wednesday, 20 April, 2005.


Article 2. Type of race

The race is restricted to athletes belonging to the Men’s Elite category.


Article 3. Participation

In compliance with article 2.1.005 of UCI regulations, the race is open to UCI ProTeams and to Professional Continental Teams. In compliance with article 2.2.003 of UCI rules, the number of contestants per team is a minimum of 5 and a maximum of 8.


Article 4. Office hours

Office hours are held on Tuesday, 19 April from 2:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the:
Stade du Pays de Charleroi
Boulevard Zoé Drion - 6000 - Charleroi
Numbers will be distributed by the managers of licensed teams from 2:30 to 4:45 p.m..
The Sports Directors’ meeting, organised according to article 1.2.087 of the U.C.I. regulations, in the presence of the Members of the College of Commissioners, is scheduled for 5:00 p.m. at the organisation’s office site.


Article 5. Radio-Tour

Race information will be broadcast by the channel169.425 MHZ on the dial.


Article 6. Neutral Technical Assistance

The Neutral technical assistance is ensured by MAVIC.
This service is delivered by means of 3 technical cars.


Article 7. Time to finish

Any contestant arriving at the finish with a time exceeding 5 % of the winner’s time is dropped from the classification. This time frame can be increased in exceptional circumstances by the College of Commissioners, in consultation with the organiser.


Article 8. Classifications

The following classifications have been established:
- Individual classification by time,
- Classification for the slopes.


Article 8 B. Classification of slopes

A general classification is established by adding the points awarded over the full 9 slopes.
These slopes award respectively: 4 - 2 and 1 point to the first three 3 contestants making classification. To be entitled to the general final classification, the contestants are obliged to finish the race. In case of a draw, the classification at the finish line settles the issue.
The awards given out for the classification of the slopes is spread over the classifications at the summits of the slopes in the general final classification.

TOTAL 40 000 €


Table of prizes for the slopes:
For each of the slopes chosen:
To the 1st: 250 €
i.e. €250 X 9 2 250 €
 
General final classification:
To the 1st: 2 000 €
To the 2nd: 750 €
To the 3rd: 500 €
i.e. 3.250 €
   
Total amount for the classification of the slopes: 5 500 €
The general total of prizes distributed for this race is: 45 500 €


Article 10. Anti-doping

Anti-doping controls are carried out under the authority of the International Cycling Union (UIC) and by designated Officials, at HUY near the dressing rooms/showers.


Article 11. Protocol

In compliance with 1.12.112 of UCI rules, the following riders must follow the protocol:
- The first 3 contestants in the race,
- The winner of the classification of the slopes.


Article 12. Penalties

The UCI scale of penalties is the sole applicable.
