After a cruel disappointment, loss of against-the-clock team of Nice by only 0.76 of a second, training Omega Pharma-Quickstep has found the taste of success in Marseille. Not content to propel Mark Cavendish to his first victory wearing the jersey champion of Great Britain, the squad also won the stage by teams with thanks to ‘Cav', his lead-out master Geert Steegmans (18th) and best young rider, Michal Kwiatkowski (29th), among the top 30 in the finish beside the racecourse of Borély. Overall leaders of the team rankins, Orica-GreenEdge took second place for the stage as Simon Gerrans (15th) and Daryl Impey (13th), are locked together at the top of the GC with the same time as each other.
