High five for Marianne Vos at the Flèche Wallonne

Dutch 25-year-old Marianne Vos (Rabo Women Cycling Team) added a fifth Flèche Wallonne to her tally to go with those she won in 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2011. The towns / A sporting view

Huy

Huy is one of the main tourist centres in the Meuse Basin and boasts many natural treasures and can be proud of its rich heritage.  In the town centre, colourful terraces, eye-catching shops, shaded parks and lively pedestrian areas allow visitors to enjoy a taste of the town's warmth.

Festive, cultural and sporty, Huy boasts a remarkable calendar of events.  The Condroz-Huy Rally, the fair on 15th August, many festivals and exhibitions, as well as the end of year activities organised around the open air ice rink in the Grand-Place punctuate the year, just like the Flèche Wallonne, whose finish line was first established there in 1998, to the delight of thousands of cycling fans, but to the dread of the peloton, who will be obliged to suffer in order to overcome the 19% gradient of the renowned Mur de Huy.
