A small town set in open countryside, Lamastre is fiercely protective of its peaceful environment. Situated 120 km to the south of Lyon, Lamastre offers nature loving visitors the chance to enjoy its rivers, meadows and chestnut orchards. The municipality nestles in a region at an altitude running from 350 to 1,100 m at the entrance to the Monts d‘Ardèche Regional Natural Park. Varied vegetation and rocky landscapes co-exist with a dynamic society and economy which is founded on the local businesses (nearly a hundred in the services, food and building sectors). Lamastre also excels in the tourist and leisure sector - for example with its Vallée du Doux discovery trails and the numerous hiking, riding and cycle tracks which can be enjoyed around a 215 km circuit. A few days after the Critérium du Dauphiné, Lamastre will look on as the famous Ardéchoise cyclotourist event goes by – and in August, they will be organising the 28th edition of their own triathlon.

1,200 inhabitants (San-Farcios)

In the heart of the Ardèche Verte, on a plateau of the Vivarais, 30 km from the Rhône Valley, surrounding the green valley of the Daronne and 17 km south-west of Annonay; Saint-Félicien is based around its church, built in the 12th century and classed as a historical monument. Agricultural activity occupies a major role in the territory, but numerous craftsmen, traders and small industries have produced a high quality rural economic centre and its landscapes have generated a highly popular tourist industry. Cradle of the Ardéchoise, the largest cyclotourist meeting in France which will be run over four days from 13 June, Saint-Félicien attracts over 15,000 enthusiasts and has become an key meeting place. Saint-Félicien is therefore delighted to be hosting the 2nd stage of a professional cycling competition which will on this occasion be run along part of the Ardéchoise route as well as Mont Gerbier de Jonc (1,421 m.), the source of the Loire.
