Paris-Roubaix: the extreme testing ground for riders and bicycles. A race that is as old as cycling itself. We are deeply inspired by Paris-Roubaix here at Trek. The Hell of the North keeps our engineers awake night after night. The race torments our very essence and our spirits. The ground is unrelenting and the conditions are extreme and merciless. Paris-Roubaix is less a test of the riders’ speed than of their staying power.
Paris-Roubaix is not concerned about the riders’ well-being and technological breakthroughs. The riders come and go, the seasons change but the cobblestones remain. They lie in wait. The cobblestones have survived a great deal more than cyclists and it would be a mistake to underestimate them. It is the nature of this unchanging section of land which inspires us to be continually innovative. Triumphing over a landmark such as the cobblestones which have been resistant to time and history is a tribute to man’s desire to overcome his surroundings and his limits.
