Special rules

Article 1. Organisation

The 108th PARIS-ROUBAIX is organised by T.D.F. Sport and Amaury Sport Organisation (A.S.O.), under International Cycling Union (UCI) and French Cycling Federation (FFC) regulations. It will take place on 11th April 2010.

 

Article 2. Participation

The event is open to UCI Pro Teams and UCI Professional Continental Teams restricted to a maximum of 8 cyclists and a minimum of 5 cyclists at the start of the race.

Through registration and/or participation in the event, each team hereby declares their full acceptance and adherence to all the provisions in these special rules.

 

Article 3. World Rankings

The 108th PARIS-ROUBAIX is classified in the World Rankings and awards points as follows: 100 - 80 - 70 - 60 - 50 - 40 - 30 - 20 - 10 and 4 points to the first 10 classified riders.

 

Article 4. RACE HEADQUARTERS

Race Headquarters will be open on Saturday 10th April from 14.30 to 18.00 at:

Team managers shall confirm the starters and claim jersey numbers from the Race Headquarters from 2.30 pm to 4.45 pm on Saturday 10th April.

The Team Managers' meeting, in the presence of members of the College of Stewards, will be held at 5.00 pm at Race Headquarters.

 

Article 5. Radio-Tour

Race information will be broadcast on "Radio-Tour" (169.425 MHZ).

 

Article 6. NEUTRAL TECHNICAL SUPPORT

Neutral technical support will be provided by MAVIC.

Four technical cars and 4 motorbikes will be on hand for this service.

 

Article 7. FINISHING DEADLINES

Any rider finishing after a period later than 5% of the winner's time shall not be considered for classification. The deadline may be increased in exceptional situations by the College of Stewards in consultation with the Race Management.

 

Article 8. CLASSIFICATION

The individual classification by time will be determined in accordance with the order in which the riders finish.

 

Article 9. PRIZES

The overall total of prize money awarded for the event is € 91,000
 

Article 10. AWARDS CEREMONY

The following riders must be present at the podium for the awards ceremony:

  • - The first 3 riders to finish the race.

They must present themselves within a maximum period of 5 minutes after they finish.

 

Article 11. PENALTIES

Penalties are in accordance with UCI regulations in all circumstances.

 

Article 12. FIGHT AGAINST DOPING - ANTI-DOPING TESTS

A.S.O. and each of the participating teams declare it an absolute obligation to scrupulously respect the regulations and procedures decreed by the relevant authorities governing the fight against doping, as well as the obligation to maintain a strictly irreproachable line of conduct in this domain. Participating teams hereby commit to applying the aforementioned regulations and procedures and shall be entirely responsible for the strict adherence to these regulations by their riders and more generally, their staff and service providers.

Anti-doping tests are carried out under the authority of the UCI and designated officials, at the finishing line in the organisers' trailer.

 

Article 13. OBJECTION - EXCLUSION

19.1. A.S.O. considers the preservation of its image, its reputation and that of its event of the utmost consequence.

A.S.O. expressly reserves the right to refuse participation in - or to exclude from - the event, any team or members of a team, whose presence shall seriously blemish the image and/or reputation of A.S.O. and/or the event.

19.2. Furthermore, A.S.O. may exclude from the event any team or any of its members in the following cases:

  • A breach of the event's rules, including those concerning the event's internal discipline.
  • A serious breach of French law.
