Special rules

Article 1. Organisation

The 103rd PARIS-TOURS is organised by the Amaury Sport Organisation (hereafter “A.S.O.”). It will take place on Sunday 11th October 2009, under the regulations of the International Cycling Union (UCI) and the French Cycling Federation.

 

Article 2. Participation

There will be a minimum of 5 riders per team and a maximum of 8.

 

Article 3. Race HQ

The race headquarters will be open on Saturday 10th of October from 2.30 pm to 6.00 pm:

Confirmation of starters and collection of race numbers by team managers will take place at Race HQ on Saturday 10th October from 2.30 pm to 4.45 pm.

The team managers' meeting, in the presence of members of the Commissaires' Panel, is scheduled for 5.00 pm at Race HQ.

 

Article 4. Radio-Tour

Race information will be broadcast on the 169.425 MHZ frequency.

 

Article 5. Neutral technical assistance

The neutral technical support service is provided by MAVIC, using three technical vehicles.

 

Article 6. Finishing deadlines

All riders finishing within a time limit exceeding 5% of the winner's time will not be included in the classification. In consultation with the organiser, the Commissaires' Panel may extend the time limit in the event of exceptional circumstances.

 

Article 7. Classification

The individual time classification will be based on order of arrival at the finishing line.

Total prize money for the event: €20.000

 

Article 9. Fight against doping - anti-doping tests

Anti-doping tests are carried out under the authority of the International Cycling Union and designated officials , at the finish of the race.

A.S.O. and each of the teams participating believe it is absolutely necessary to strictly respect the rules and recommendations set out by the competent authorities in anti-doping as well as to display totally irreproachable conduct in this respect. The teams participating hereby undertake to apply the said rules and recommendations and shall be solely responsible for ensuring that they are respected by their team members and more generally by all their employees and service providers.

 

Article 10. Awards ceremony

The first three race finishers must attend the awards ceremony.
They must present themselves within 5 minutes maximum after finishing.

 

Article 11. Penalties

Penalties in accordance with UCI regulations will be applied for Paris-Tours.

 

Article 12. Objection-Exclusion

A.S.O. considers the preservation of its image, its reputation and that of its events of the utmost consequence. In accordance with UCI regulations, article 2.2.010 bis, paragraphs 7 and 8, A.S.O. expressly reserves the right to refuse the participation in - or to exclude from - the event, any team or any of its members, whose presence would seriously damage the image or reputation of A.S.O. or the event.
