Cantal, a naturally trendy venue!
In Cantal, let yourself be tempted by a trip among the volcanoes of Auvergne: mountains, lakes and rivers invite you to let yourself go and enjoy a number of outdoor activities: hiking, fishing, horse riding, cycling (either on touring bikes or cross-country bikes), downhill or cross-country skiing... all enabling visitors to discover an authentic and magnificent landscape.
Why not climb the Puy-Mary, classified as one of France’s "Grand Sites"? Or descend the slopes at the Lioran resort? Winter or summer? Difficult to choose: each season has its own attractions rich in sensation.
Heritage and culture will amaze you in a famous work of Gustave Eiffel: the Garabit viaduct. And in the evenings, it is never too late to relax at the spa of Chaudes-Aigues or around the table for an excellent meal.
All leisure and sporting activities can be practised and appreciated in the Cantal region.

Carmaux, an ancient mining town in the Tarn region, is located in the Ségala area, fifteen kilometres to the north of Albi. This little working class agglomeration has a population of 11,000 and is laid out in pretty gardens, parks and flower-filled squares, its avenues lined with a variety of attractive little shops and businesses.
Its coal mining, glass manufacturing and industrial, political and social history where Jean Jaurès, MP for Carmaux, made his name, still profoundly impregnate the little town. Visitors on the lookout for authentic and natural products can try the Carmaux specialities such as the "échaudés" or biscuits made with bread dough flavoured with aniseed. A number of music concerts and cultural shows enliven the town all year round. Thanks to its stadiums, sports grounds and associations, Carmaux is also considered a city of sport.
