The range of leisure activities in Amilly and the knowledge of its inhabitants are influenced by three activities which develop people and are as varied as they are complimentary.
Contemporary art and baroque music are both very present and exist alongside sport and the town’s 2,000 licence holders.
The town, which was rewarded in 1986 by the newspaper L’Equipe for its sports policy, has continued to develop quality facilities (dojo, an athletics track, a synthetic football field and a swimming pool) and events focused on cycling (French Championships for Disabled Sports, the Amateur Elite Final and the “Route de France feminine” (a cycling race for women which goes through different regions of France)
Amilly belongs to the UNICEF child-friendly town programme and contributes to this initiative in a discreet but effective manner.

Nevers and its region: protected areas, places of exception and discovery…
Nestled in the heart of the regions of Burgundy, Centre and Auvergne, Nevers, which is the capital of the Nièvre, is situated two hours from Paris by car, via the A77 motorway. Nevers has a surprisingly rich heritage: the Saint-Cyr-Sainte Juliette Cathedral, the Ducal Palace, the Saint Etienne Church, the earthenware makers’ district, but also other surprises which can be discovered individually or by following a guide-lecturer.
In a protected natural environment, the River Loire is the guide which allowed the bargees to make Nevers’ earthenware known. “The last wild river in Europe" allows the fauna and flora of the River Loire to be admired in a canoe, in a traditional boat or by wandering around on the discovery footpaths.
