Special rules

Article 1. Organisation

The 102nd PARIS-TOURS is organised by the Amaury Sport Organisation (hereafter “A.S.O.”). It will take place on Sunday, 12 October 2008.

 

Article 2. Participation

The number of riders per team is five to eight.

 

Article 3. Staff HQ

The staff HQ will be open on Saturday 11 October from 2:30 to 6pm at:

Club des Remparts
Rue Henri Grivot
78730 Saint-Arnoult-en-Yvelines

The confirmation of starters and collection of bibs by team managers will take place at staff HQ from 2:30 to 4:45pm on Saturday 11 October.

The sports managers meeting, with the members of the Jury of Stewards, is set for 5pm at the organisation's HQ.

 

Article 4. Radio-Tour

Race information will be broadcast on the 169.425 MHZ frequency.

 

Article 5. Neutral technical assistance

MAVIC will take be responsible for neutral technical assistance.
Three technical cars will be on hand for this service.

 

Article 6. Finish time limits

All riders finishing within a time limit exceeding 5% of the winner’s time will not be included in the classification. In consultation with the organiser, the Jury of Stewards may extend the time limit in the event of exceptional circumstances.

 

Article 7. Classification

The individual time classification will be based on the time the riders cross the finish line.

 

Article 8.

The race prizes are the following:

  • 1st: €16,000

Article 9. Anti-doping

Designated officials will perform anti-doping tests, in accordance with the rules of French law and, if need be, any other rules applicable to the event, in the organisation’s trailer at the finish of the event.

 

Article 10. Official ceremony

The event’s three leading finishers must attend the official ceremony.

They must present themselves within 5 minutes maximum after finishing.

 

Article 11. Penalties

The scale of penalties called for in the general rules will be applied for Paris-Tours.

 

Article 12. Objection-Exclusion

A.S.O. reserves the right to refuse participation in or exclude from Paris-Tours any team or any of its members whose presence would damage the image or reputation of A.S.O. and/or the event and/or the other teams and riders involved. That right will be exercised in the following conditions

a) A.S.O. will notify the team of its decision in writing, either by registered mail with acknowledgement of receipt or by handing the letter personally to the recipient or by fax or e-mail.

The letter must:

  • specify whether the challenge or exclusion is linked to the presence of the entire team or to the presence of one or more of its members, mentioned by name;
  • specify that, in the event the challenge or exclusion involves the presence of one or more of its members mentioned by name, the team must, as the employer, remove him or them from the team or, failing that, renounce any participation by the entire team in the event;
  • indicate the reasons on which the decision is based;
  • mention that, to contest the decision, the team will have 24 (twenty-four) hours from the time it receives the letter of challenge or exclusion to file a complaint with the President of the Sport Arbitration Chamber (Maison du sport français, 1 avenue Pierre de Coubertin, 75640 Paris cedex 13) and notify A.S.O. of it; failing that, the team will be considered to have definitively accepted the challenge or exclusion.

b) If the team files a complaint President of the Sport Arbitration Chamber, he will appoint a single arbitrator from among its members. After hearing each party plead its case, the arbitrator will decide, within the time limit imposed by urgency, whether there is reason to challenge or exclude the entire team or any of its members.

The arbitrator’s decision cannot be appealed.
