With a population of 3,200 and situated 40 km south of Rennes and some 20 km north of Redon, Pipriac is a flourishing rural municipality where life is sweet but never routine – fifty or so dynamic organisations see to that.
Its history was marked by Jean Brito, one of the forefathers of movable type, born in Pipriac ca. 1414. The municipality is twinned with the Welsh town of Whitland.
Pipriac is also known for its "Piperia La Galette" Brotherhood, whose buckwheat festival is held during the last weekend in September.
Pipriac is also a cycling paradise which hosts numerous events and is home to a dynamic cycling club.
