At the end of a 14-km peninsula, Quiberon has all the attractions of a leading seaside resort. Its extremely mild climate and exceptional sunshine tally make it an all-the-year-round centre!
Quiberon has a dual facet: on the one hand, the Bay, ideal for lay-back breaks, sailing or land-based fishing and, on the other, the Wild Coast, a superb spectacle you can discover along the coast road.
Numerous activities cater for long stays or short breaks: contact with nature, shopping, beach amusements, casino games, gastronomic pleasures, relaxation at the Accor Thalassa thalassotherapy centre… A thousand and one activities for young and old alike: surfing, sailing, sea garden, diving, fishing, trips around the islands…

With a population of 1,450, the municipality covers 840 hectares (2,075 acres) including 220 ha of marshlands featuring varied geology and landscapes, in particular a superb panoramic view over the valleys of the Vilaine, Oust and Arz.
In this zone of converging waters, a moorhen couple can take up residence in Ille-et-Vilaine, Loire-Atlantique or Morbihan, depending on the riverbank where they choose to nest. During the Gallo-Roman period, Saint-Jean-la-Poterie was an important centre for the production of traditional items of Breton pottery. In 2004, archaeological excavations unearthed shards probably dating from the 10th century. In the 1930s, an earthenware factory was founded whose hand-decorated ware bears the "Saint-Jean-de-Bretagne" stamp. Today, a rehabilitation site manufactures miniature items of pottery. Open in summer, the Maison de la Potière, or Potter’s House, outlines the different stages of this activity.
