The stage analysis

Saturday 17 March 2007
stage 6 | Brignoles > Cannes - 200 km

Brignoles – Cannes

The analysis of François Lemarchand (former rider, race regulator on the A.S.O. cycling events)

While the stage has all the classical characteristics of a traditional penultimate stage of Paris-Nice, the day’s program is slightly more intense. As soon as the Côte de Taradeau, the remaining 126 kms will include a series of exhausting difficulties that those who normally compete in the Tour du Haut-Var already know. One can imagine that as of the Col de Saint-Andrieux and the Col du Défens, the strong men will be in the race leadership. Strategically, the leader who will be able to count on several team mates will a lot more serene. The Col de Bourigaille will be climbed up from a different side. Before finishing in Cannes, the final explanation will take place during the climb up the Col du Tanneron.
