The stage analysis

stage 5 | Sorgues > Manosque - 178 km

Sorgues – Manosque

The analysis of François Lemarchand (former rider, race regulator on the A.S.O. cycling events)

Theoretically, the contenders for victory will already be known and on the day’s profile, there won’t be a real possibility to change the overall hierarchy. On the other hand, the fighters that won’t be too much of a concern in the GC will have good opportunities to shine, just as long as their winter preparation is excellent. After five days of racing, kilometres will start being felt in the legs of the riders. If victory has to be decided among a small group, the freshest of the bunch could claim the stage by attacking well before the line.
