Special rules
ARTICLE 1. Organisation
The 71st Flèche Wallonne is organised by Amaury Sport Organisation and the Royal Pesant Club Liégeois under the rules of the Union Cycliste Internationale and the Royale Ligue Vélocipédique Belge. It will be fought on Wednesday 25 April 2007.
ARTICLE 2. Trial type
The trial is open to sports groups, the number of cyclists per team is 5 at least and 8 at most.
ARTICLE 3. Office
The starting office takes place on Tuesday 24 April from 14h30 to 18h00 at:
Stade du Pays de Charleroi
Boulevard Zoé Drion
6000 - charleroi
The collection of jerseys by licensed team managers takes place from 14h30 to 16h45.
The meeting for Sports Managers, organised in accordance with article 1.2.087 of the U.C.I. rules, in the presence of members of the college of commissars, is arranged at 17h00 in the organisation's office.
ARTICLE 4. Radio-Tour
Race information is issued on the Frequency 169.425 MHZ.
ARTICLE 5. Neutral technical assistance
Neutral technical assistance service is provided by MAVIC.
The service is provided by means of 3 technical cars.
ARTICLE 6. Finish times
Any cyclist finishing more than 5 % outside the winner's time is no longer retained in the ranking. This period may be increased in the event of exceptional circumstances by the college of commissars, in consultation with the organiser.
ARTICLE 7. Rankings
The following rankings are drawn up:
- individual ranking to time.
- ranking on hill climbs.
ARTICLE 8. Ranking on hill climbs
A general ranking is drawn up by addition of points allocated on all 11 hill climbs.
These hill climbs allocate 4 - 2 - 1 points respectively to the 3 first rankings.
To be entitled to prizes in the final general ranking, competitors must complete the trial.
In the case of a tie, ranking at the finish takes precedence.
The allocation made for ranking on hill climbs is spread over rankings at the top of hill climbs and at the final general ranking.

Table of Prize Money for Hill climbs
In each of the selected hill climbs:
- to the 1st: 250 €
i.e. 250 € X 11 = 2,750 €
Final general ranking
- to the 1st: 2,000 €
- to the 2nd: 750 €
- to the 3rd: 500 €
i.e. 3,250 €
Total amount for ranking of hill climbs: 6,000 €
General total of prizes distributed at the time of the trial is 46,000 €
ARTICLE 10. Anti-doping
Dope testing is carried out under the authority of the Union Cycliste Internationale and designated Officials, in HUY next to the shower/changing rooms.
ARTICLE 11. Protocol
In compliance with article 1.12.112 of the U.C.I. rules, the following cyclists must present themselves to the protocol:
- the first 3 in the trial.
- the winner of the ranking for hill climbs.
ARTICLE 12. Penalties
The U.C.I. scale of penalties is the only one applicable.
