Saint-Méen-le-Grand was built at the intersection of two important Roman roads, upon which was partly based the future layout of major communication lines in Brittany.

This asset resulted in one of Brittany’s major trade regions, making the city a dynamic and lively one, naturally open to the outside world.

Saint-Méen is reputed as a nice place. Leisure activities abound, especially sports. Local great Louison Bobet has been succeeded by many athletes, French national champions in various sports. Nonetheless, Saint-Méen keeps turning up cyclists.

As for the economic sector, benefiting from its strategic position in Brittany, the Saint-Méen area attracts more and more businesses.
