Saint-Nicolas-La-Chapelle
Saint-Nicolas-La-Chapelle likes to think of itself as being amongst the most attractive areas of Savoie without being one of the most remote. The hills in the village have been visited since the turn of the twentieth century by tourists who appreciate a balance between a community that has come together across immense alpine meadows and a baroque church built on the hillside where Saint François de Sales used to preach. It is the wildest viewpoint we could hope for, facing Mont Blanc. Any visitor will easily appreciate all this when climbing the hairpin route to Chaucisse. The challenge that the area represents to cyclists reminds us of numerous heights such as Galibier or Madeleine Hills. Cameramen and photographers will be bringing us the latest from the stage before, during and after the race.
